Before I Go

If you're living a bad life,
life is nothing but a dead end road.
But you can always learn from your failures
And get going somewhere again. 2

Each of us tends to think we see things as they are,
that we are objective- but this is not the case.
We see the world not as it is
but as we are conditioned to see it. 3

When my life has reached its very end,
And I take that final breath;

I want to know I've left behind,
Some good before my death.

I hope that in my final hour,
In all honesty I can say:

That somewhere in my lifetime,
I have brightened someone's day.

That maybe I have brought a smile
To someone else's face,

And made one moment a little sweeter
While they dwelled here in this place.

God, please be my reminder
And whisper softly in my ear...

To be a giver, not a taker,
In the years I have left here.

Give to me the strength I need,
Open up my mind and my soul

That I might show sincere compassion,
And love to others before I go.

For if not a heart be touched by me,
And not a smile was left behind...

Then the life that I am blessed with,
Will have been a waste of time.

With all my heart, I truly hope
To leave something here on earth....

That touched another, made them smile
And gave to my life ... worth. 1

                                                                              You can have anything you want,
                                                                      if you will give up the belief,
                                                              that you can't have it. 4

But also you will always be better, smarter, or faster than someone else.
So find your own niche, a comfortable spot to be yourself.
      Find something to be passionate about and become as best you can be at it.

      Only then will you be happy, because in a world
              Where someone is always better and someone is always worse,
                      Being the best YOU possible is all that counts." 5

                              We cannot control our beginning or our end,
                                      But we can control our in between. 6

                                              Life is but a journey which you must travel.
                                      Learn from your mistakes,
                              Listen to the wise
                      And love those who surround you. 7

      It's better to lose your pride with someone you love
Rather than lose that someone you love with your useless pride. 8

      Don't overlook the people you think will always be there,
For those are the ones you'll miss the most when they're gone. 9

                                 When at last my journey's done, after giving it my best shot,
                                         perhaps I'll hear those words too seldom heard in life . . .
                                                                 "Bravo, you done good."
