Soundtrack: Brother Jutebox
Cherish your visions.
    Cherish your ideals.
    Cherish the music that stirs in your heart,
            the beauty that forms in your mind,
            the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts,

for out of them will grow all delightful conditions,
    all heavenly environment -
    of these,
    if you but remain true to them,
    your world will at last be built.
            ~ James Allen
Note: the words “should” and “could” are used here in the conditional tense; not in the imperative!  This is not just a
“grammar thing” – forgetting that difference can lead to misunderstanding – in this post, but more importantly - in daily life.
Maybe . . .

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
     they just make the most of everything
             that comes along their way.

Maybe . . .
Happiness waits for all those who cry,
     all those who hurt,
     all those who have searched,
     and all those who have tried,
     for only they can appreciate
     the importance
     of all the people who have touched their lives.

Maybe . . .
You should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet,
     enough trials to make you strong,
     enough sorrow to keep you human,
     and enough hope to make you happy

Maybe . . .
You should always try to put yourself in others' shoes.
     If you feel that something could hurt you,
     it probably will hurt the other person, too.

Maybe . . .
You should do something nice for someone every single day,
     even if it is simply to leave them alone.

Maybe . . .
There are moments in life when you miss someone
      - a parent, a spouse, a love, a friend, a child -
      so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams
      and hug them for real,

                so that once they are around,
                you appreciate them more.

Maybe . . .
Love begins with a smile,
      grows with a kiss,
                and doesn't have to end with a tear.

Maybe . . .
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone,
      an hour to like someone,
      and a day to love someone,

       but it takes more than a lifetime
                to forget someone.

Maybe . . .
Nobody is perfect
      until you fall in love with them.

Maybe . . .
Giving someone all your love
      is never an assurance
              that they will love you back.

Don't expect love in return;
      just wait for it to grow in their heart;

but if it doesn't,

                             be content that it grew in yours.

Maybe . . .
You shouldn’t cry
      over anyone
               who doesn't cry over you.

Maybe . . .
You shouldn't go for looks;
      they can deceive;

      don't go for wealth;

even that fades away.

Go for someone who makes you smile,
      because it takes only a smile
               to make a dark day seem bright.

                Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Maybe . . .
As the holy scriptures tell us not “to cast your pearls before swine
              (
those who don’t appreciate their value or worth),

      Do not waste your love
              by bestowing it on those
                      not worthy of it.

Maybe . . .
The brightest future
      is will always be based on a forgotten past;

      after all,
              you can't go on successfully in life
              until you let go of your past mistakes,
                      failures and heartaches.

Maybe . . .
We were supposed to meet the wrong people,
      for whom we were the wrong person,
      before meeting the right one;

so that,
                when we finally meet the right person,
                we will know
                        how to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe . . .
We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.
      People make mistakes
              - or get scared.

Maybe . . .
People only see
      what they are prepared to see,
              or want to see.

Maybe . . .
It is true
      that we don't know what we have until we lose it,

but it is also true that we don't know what
                      we have been missing until it arrives.

Maybe . . .
When the door of happiness closes, another opens;
      but often times, we look so long at the closed door
              that we don't even see the new one
              which has been opened for us.

Maybe . . .
Many people will walk in
      and out or your life,

      But only true friends
              will leave footprints in your heart.

Maybe . . .
Best friends
      are the siblings God forgot to give us.

Maybe . . .
Good friends are hard to find,
        . . . harder to leave,

and are impossible to forget.

Maybe . . .
When it hurts to look back,
      and you're scared to look ahead,

you can look beside you
                      and your
Best Friend will be there.

Maybe . . .
The best kind of friend is the kind
      you can sit on a porch and swing with,

      never say a word,
      and then walk away feeling
              like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

Maybe . . .
Life is not lost by dying;

      life is lost minute by minute,
      day by dragging day,
      in all the thousand small uncaring ways.

Maybe . . .
You shouldn’t let the past hold you back,
      you're missing the good stuff.

Maybe . . .
You don’t believe in yourself
      until someone reveals that deep inside you
              is valuable,
              worth listening to,
              worthy of our trust,
              sacred to our touch.

Once you believe in yourself you can risk curiosity,
      wonder, spontaneous delight
      or any experience that reveals the human spirit.

Maybe . . .
You should dream what you want to dream;
      go where you want to go,
      be what you want to be,

      because you have only one life and one chance

to do all the things you dream of,
                      and want to do.

Maybe . . .
You should watch your thoughts,
      for they become words.

      Watch your words,

for they become actions.

      Watch your actions,

for they become habits.

      Watch your habits,
              for they become character.

      Watch your character,
              for it becomes your destiny.

Maybe . . .
Many things in life will catch your eye
      but few will catch your heart...
               Pursue those.

Maybe . . .
You should try to live your life to the fullest
      because when you were born,
      you were crying and everyone around you was smiling

      but when you die,

you can be the one who is smiling
              and everyone around you crying.

Maybe . . .
You should do
      what you feel in your heart to be right

- for you'll be criticized anyway.

Maybe . . .
Great truths are portions of the soul of humankind;
      Great souls are portions of eternity.

Maybe . . .
S/he who controls others may be powerful,
      but if you have mastered yourself,
               you are mightier still.

Maybe . . .
You should hold on to what is good,
      even if it is a handful of earth.

      And hold on to what you believe,
              even if it is a tree which stands by itself.

      Hold on to what you must do,
              even if it is a long way from here.

      Hold on to life,
              even when it is easier to let go.

      Hold on to my hand,
              even when I seem to have gone away from you.

Maybe . . .
You could share this message
      with those people who mean something to you,
              with those who have touched your life,

one way or another,

      with those who can and do make you smile
              when you really need it,

      with those who make you see the brighter side of things
              when you are really down,

and with all those whom you want to let know
      that you appreciate them and their friendship.

Oh Great Spirit
let the cells in my body reflect the love bestowed on me.
Let the patterns of my cells be always ones of beauty to your eyes.

For I wander here and there, like a blind person
When my eyes are gifted with your exquisite joy
I fall prostrate before you in my reverence

And my soul knows it has a home.
