Life is NOT About . . .
Life isn't about keeping score.
It's not about how many friends you have.
Or how accepted you are.
Not about if you have plans this weekend or if you are alone.
It isn't about who you're dating, who you used to date,
or how many people you've dated,
or if you haven't been with anyone at all.
It isn't about who you have kissed. It's not about sex.
It isn't about who your family is or how much money they have,
or what kind of car you drive,
or where you are sent to school.
It's not about how beautiful or ugly you are,
or what clothes you wear,
what shoes you have on,
or what kind of music you listen to.
It's not about if your hair is blonde, red, black, or brown.
Or if your skin is too light or too dark.
Not about what grades you get, how smart you are,
how smart everybody else thinks you are,
or how smart standardized tests say you are.
It's not about what clubs you're in or how good you are at "your" sport.
It's not about representing your whole being on a piece of paper and seeing
who will "accept the written you."
Life is not about Talents -- Everybody has some.
A person of great talents (everyone is) who will not give it all it takes,
will consistently achieve less than another of less who will.
Life is not about Skills -- Anyone can get them.
A person of great skills, and nothing more, will consistently perform less than
a person of lower skills who will give it all it takes.
Life is not about Luck -- You can create yours.
Life is not about Fate -- That's a lame excuse.
Luck always finds that person who will give it all it takes:
Fate simply doesn't exist where they are.
Life is not about Feelings -- They are like clothes.
You wore one yesterday; you chose another today.
Feelings can be chosen.
The person who gives it all wears their feelings like a garment.
They choose them to serve their purpose.
They are their servants –
They call on them to do their bidding.

Soundtrack: In Your Eyes
"In your association with others,
Enter into their feelings,
their difficulties,
their disappointments,
their joys and their sorrows.
Identify yourself with them,
and then do to them as,
were you to exchange places with them,
you would wish them to deal with you."
-- Unknown
You may not be able to say what good is, but you will know when you have strayed from it by a pain in your soul that you feel as conscience.
