All these are the things you gave to yourself; it was not fate.
They are based on your choices. As the fruit of what you felt
you deserved in life – savour them.
If . . . you find that you short-changed yourself; simply regroup
and join others who awoke - and take a
different road.

My will shall shape my future.
Whether I fail or succeed shall be no one’s doing but my own.
I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be
lost in the maze.  My choice; my responsibility, win or lose,
only I hold the key to my destiny.

Sound: To Go Beyond - Enya
Think of the things you have.
Select the best
[1]

      your home,
      your possessions,
      your vehicle,
      your activities,
      your job, career
      or profession,
              your companion or partner,
              your family,
              your friends,
                      your happiness,
                      your peace of mind,
                              your contentment . .  .

                              . . . all yours:
                      the results of decisions made;
              and goals you set,
      for which you sacrificed quality time,
people, things and energy. . .

so much sacrifice . . .
      so many things and people left behind . . .

      They truly are the fruit of your labour -
      the things you cling and hold on to.

      They are not due to fate;
              which is random chance
                      they are yours by choice.

                      now reflect on . . .
                      how eagerly you would have sought
                              them if you did not have them
[1].

                                      But there are
                                      other things to hold onto . . .

              Hold on to faith
      it is the source of believing
that all things are possible.

It is the fiber
and strength of a
      confident soul.

      Hold on to hope
      it banishes doubt
              and enables attitudes
              to be positive
                      and cheerful.

                      Hold on to trust
                      it is at the core
                              of fruitful relationships
                                      that are secure and content . .
.

                                      only insecurity, unhappiness and discontent
                                      will allow suspicion, rumour and doubt
                                              to destroy trust . . .
                                                      and erode relationships, of whatever kind.

                      Hold on to love
              it is life's greatest gift of all,
      for it shares,
cares,
and gives meaning to life.

      Hold on to family and friends
      they are the most important
people in your life,
              and they make the world a better place.

They are your roots
and the beginnings
that you grew from;

they are the vine
that has grown through time

to nourish you,
help you on your way,
and always remain close by.

      Hold on to all that you are
      and all that you have learned
              for these things are
                      what make you unique.

Don't ignore what you feel
and what you believe
      is right and important;
      your heart has a way
              of speaking louder than your mind.

Hold on to your dreams.
      Achieve them diligently
              and honestly.

              Never take the easy way or
                      surrender to deceit.

                      Remember others on your way,
              and take time to care for their needs.

Enjoy the beauty around you.
Have the courage
to see things differently and clearly.

Make the world a better place
one day at a time,
and don't let go of the important things
that give meaning to your life.
[2]

Hold on to being authentic;
real and actual,
rather than false.

without counterfeiting your true character;
neither living in imitation of others,
nor adulterating yourself.

      Hold on to good faith,
      and sincerity of intention.
              Honour yourself.

              Respect others; they too, have their story.
              The two things no-one can take from you are;
                      self-respect and self-worth.

      These can’t be taken –
only given away, and lost . . .

– they can also be regained . . .

This is your awakening.
