I am making all the right choices.
Failure is impossible.
It doesn't hurt more than I can stand.
It only hurts as long as I haven't seen the point.
It doesn't have to hurt at all.
On the whole, people would rather like me than not.
I don't have to do anything I can't.
There is enough time for everything,
Give my full attention to only one thing at a time.
Need only what I can supply myself or already have.
Don't settle.
It is better to have nothing
than to be stuck with inferior something.
Calm down.
Don't forget to breathe. 4

If you . . .
put truth
above your own desires
and value those as friends
who feel the same
If you take pride
in things that you've accomplished
And when you're wrong,
stand up and take the blame
If you can
understand your limitations
And not waste time
on tasks beyond your scope
But take the future
as a brand new challenge
that you can meet
with confidence and hope
If you can listen
to those who would advise you
And then judge for yourself
just what is right
If you can keep in touch
with all about you
And settle differences
without a fight
If you can find delight
in simple pleasures
And see the rainbow,
not the falling rain
If you can lose
and never give up trying
Believing that there's
nothing done in vain
If you can staunchly stick
by your convictions
And not let others
set your goals for you
If you can be
as practical as need be
And still remember
Sometimes dreams come true
If you can live the life
that you believe in
And trust your judgment
and maturity
Then you'll be not just happy
and successful,
But the worthwhile person
you are meant to be. 3

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions.
Small people always do that,
but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. 5

Live your life from your heart.
Share from your heart.
And your story will touch
and heal people's souls. 1
You live like this,
sheltered, in a delicate world,
and you believe you are living.
Then you read a book,
or you take a trip,
or you talk with a friend,
and you discover that you are not living,
that you are hibernating.
The symptoms of hibernating are easily detectable:
first, restlessness.
The second symptom
(when hibernating becomes dangerous
and might degenerate into death):
absence of pleasure.
That is all.
It appears like an innocuous illness.
Monotony,
boredom,
death.
Millions live like this
(or die like this)
without knowing it.
They work in offices.
They drive a car.
They picnic with their families.
They raise children.
And then some shock treatment takes place,
a person,
a book,
a song,
and it awakens them
and saves them from death. 2
There comes a time in life
when you have to let go of all the pointless drama
and the people who create it
and surround yourself with people
who make you laugh so hard
that you forget the bad
and focus solely on the good.
Life is too short to be anything but happy. 6
Employ your power for peace,
your experience and wisdom to reconcile,
your knowledge to open horizons,
your compassion to heal,
your very weakness to give strength.
Remember. . . your most precious possession is yourself. . .
give it away lavishly. 7
Be the worthwhile person you are meant to be;
acknowledge your own remarkable goodness;
there is much to acknowledge.
