I'm not interested in age.
People who tell me their age
are silly.
You're as old as you feel. 8
A Smile For You Today
If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model.

Live your life and forget your age. 9
Those who love deeply
never grow old;
they may die of old age,
but they die young. 10
You are never too old
to be what you might have been. 11
I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull, but that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently. But here's the worst of it – Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter.....

Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me, I want people to know "Why" I look this way.
I’ve traveled a long way
and some of the roads weren’t paved.
When you are dissatisfied
and would like to go back to youth,
think of Algebra.
I don't believe one grows older.
I think that what happens early on in life
is that at a certain age
one stands still and stagnates. 3
You know you are getting old
when everything either dries up or leaks.
I don’t know how I got over the hill
without getting to the top.
Inside every older person
is a younger person
wondering what happened. 4
One of the many things no one tells you about aging
is that it is such a nice change
from being young.
Ah, being young is beautiful,
but being old is comfortable.
You can judge your age
by the amount of pain you feel
when you come in contact with a new idea. 5
Old age is when former classmates
are so gray and wrinkled and bald,
they don’t recognize you.
If you don’t learn to laugh at trouble,
you won’t have anything to laugh at when you are old.
You don't stop laughing
because you grow old.
You grow old
because you stop laughing. 6
First you forget names,
and then you forget faces.
Then you forget to pull up your zipper.
It’s worse when you forget to pull it down.
Long ago when men cursed
and beat the ground with sticks:
it was called witchcraft.
Today, it’s called golf. 7

We do not grow absolutely,
chronologically.
We grow sometimes in one dimension,
and not in another;
unevenly.
We grow partially.
We are relative.
We are mature in one realm,
childish in another.
The past, present, and future mingle
and pull us backward,
forward, or fix us in the present.
We are made up of layers, cells, constellations. 1
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer or wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" 12
