The Spiritual Connection - Dimension
   The Spiritual Dimension of Life

We have three aspects that affect our wellness: mental, emotional and
spiritual.

To be truly well, all three aspects need to be truly inter-connected and
integrated.

The first two are the most familiar, but the spiritual aspect is often
misunderstood.

Being spiritual does not necessarily mean being religious: you can be
very spiritual without ever stepping inside a church.
But you can also be a church-goer and be very spiritual.

Being spiritual has to do with the inner knowledge of connectedness –
that all things are connected and related.
It also means being fully connected to ourselves, and within ourselves.

There are personal qualities that go with, or result from being
connected:

Spirituality is reflected by being loving to oneself and others. A
spiritual person cares about people, animals, and the planet.

A spiritual person knows that we are all one, and consciously attempts
to honor this oneness. A spiritual person is a kind person.

There are many people who do not practice a religion, who do not
meditate, pray or belong to any group, who are very spiritual people.
These people naturally do caring things for others.

They think about how they can help. Their thoughts are kind rather
than judgmental toward themselves and toward others. When you look
at them, you see their kindness in their eyes.

Spiritual comes from the Latin "spiritus" which means breathing
(it
concerns all things to do with the spirit, the breath inside the body).

Being Spiritual means acknowledging that we’re part of the universe,
and trying to understand more about what this means.

Being Spiritual means accepting responsibility for our actions, and
even our thoughts, conducted under our free will. Knowing that actions
and thoughts, like pebbles thrown into a pool, create ripples that
spread out into eternity.

To be spiritual means to strive and connect with a higher force that is
hidden from our ordinary view and perception but that can be felt
when surrendering one’s ego.

It is our spiritual aspect that tends to be poorly integrated, and
without its full integration, wellness is incomplete.

Because we believe in holistic healing for wellness (holistic means to
have all three aspects integrated into a complete “whole”) we devote a
section of the site to spiritually-related things, and have an “unchurch”
mobile chapel for those wishing to explore their spirituality in the
company of others – forming a community - to assist you in developing
this aspect of yourself further - without forcing you to accept
anything you do not want.
